so here goes: The 2006 awards
1) DRINKING BUDDY OF THE YEAR?
margaret, even though she has a tendency to cut me off prematurely. and, it's always fun to get a nice wine drunk with carissa
2) LIFETIME SERVICE AWARD - LONGEST FRIEND(s)?
duh. arliss.
3) NEWCOMER AWARD - NEWEST FRIEND
the other nannies at the free play class. we all shuck off the kids and talk about how miserable our bosses are. and maybe all the kids at the save more. arliss's old friends are my new friends
3) HIGH POINT OF THE YEAR?
falling in love (gag). sorry guys, but for serious, it's true... and maybe getting my apartment and paying my tuition and i found these amazing cowboy boots on sale...
4) LOW POINT OF THE YEAR?
probably my ridiculous decision to fly to Florida
5) BEST HOLIDAY?
Easter, hands down... watching Orion meet all my huge gypsy cousins was priceless
6) ANTHEM FOR 2006?
uh. i don't know. i have a whole cd that i jusy play and replay. Probably Amil's "Heard it all" that's a good anthem, right?
7) ANY REGRETS?
i don't know. there were some ill-advised hook-ups, and some drunken brawls, then there was that whole Florida thing. and i wish i hadn't trusted certain people, but i feel like i've learned from everything.
8) BEST NIGHT OUT?
that crazy drunken girls night at spyners. or watching Arliss get billigerant at the Cove after about ten vodka cranberry's. or the bahamas reunion at kelly's. that was awesome
9) WORST NIGHT OUT?
when we got totally tanked at Mo's and decided to get cheeseburgers from Jerry's. and i ran outside and threw up... again and again and again
10) WHO DID YOU SPEND VALENTINES WITH?
Orion. we watched a marathon of gory mobster movies for the St. Valentine's day massacre
11) BEST RELATIONSHIP?
my relationship with my parents has gotten really good finally. and it was nice to find some common ground with my older brothers. it's so cool to be friends with your siblings... is that cheesy? yes.
12) WORST RELATIONSHIP?
i wasted a lot of energy on people who are ridiculous, but we learn we learn, right?
13) FIRST GIG OF THE YEAR?
what's a gig? i was working at the funeral home for most of the year... and my awesome band cut our first album. and we played at the Vic to a sold out crowd. oh yeah.
14) LAST GIG OF THE YEAR?
i'm a nanny. it's awesome. or does sarcasm not translate onto surveys?
15) BEST DECISION MADE THIS YEAR?
to not fight being in a relationship. and to buy those cowboy boots even though they were almost $200, they were totally a bargain. and to go to law school. that's definately my fav decision.
16) WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR NEXT YEAR?
let myself go. write a book. elope in bora bora
17) MOST STUPID IDEA WHEN DRUNK?
ahhh, the infamous night of the pumpkins. i spent an unholy amount of time (drunk at 3AM) stealing the pumpkins off of all the porches on one block and putting them on this porch that had no halloween decorations. i wonder what that poor old lady was thinking when she got up and couldn't even walk down her front steps because of all the pumpkins. and i did carry some home to give to my neighbors. Actually this whole thing wasn't stupid. it was pretty cool. and funny.
