oh yeah. i'm actually still young...

Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 11:57am.

i am consistantly amazed at how often the thought "i'm too old for this" pops into my head. really, it's been happening more and more lately. orion's bday was over the weekend and at our mandatory hangover brunch he was talking about how he still feels 25 most of the time, and in my head i involuntarily thought, "25?! boy, that seems like a long time ago" and then suddenly remembered that i'm actually only 24. why am i feeling so old these days? by all accounts i'm living the life of a twenty-two year old (frequent bar trips, very newly post grad, professional nannying?!) it could be all the pets orion keeps trying to drag home (repeating "no! you don't take care of the ones you have!" definately ages you in the killjoy department). or it could be the fact that i've lived on my own since i was eighteen... it's creepy whatever the reason.

O's bday bash was a smashing success- meaning things got smashed, people hooked up, and there was barf all over my livingroom. ugh. i won't go into too much detail about that last one except to say that you'd think it would have ended the party, but actually things only got rowdier. we finally had to hide the booze at 3AM to get everyone out. and god, stale jim beam is the worst smell ever. well, i mean, after puke. i think we're done with house parties. it costs a fortune and the cleanup is endless. it was awesome to show off the house and all our new married people's things, but seriously? never again.

i've decided i'm taking my LSATs this december. (in true crazy grace style) december 6th actually, the day before we leave for our honeymoon. i figure st. maarten will take my mind off of the test, either that or i'll be freaking out the whole time... we'll see. at least there's tons of duty free shopping...

lots of people with families go to grad school. i was e-stalking my facebook friends and tons of them had kids and jobs when they were going to school at night. my sister-in-law had a baby in the middle of medical school. this whole time i've been thinking it had to be an either/or decision. kids OR career. school OR wife-ing. maybe i can do both. i think i can. orion is an amazing husband. there's no reason why i have to rule out having kids if i want to be a lawyer, right? i'm an excellant juggler and there are plenty of law schools that have great night schedules and part-time flexibility. (i hope! i hope!)

so wish me luck, i'm going to be buried in test prep books for the next two months.

that oughtta make me feel young again....

COMMENTS:
Sara: I for one have thought you were 25 for a good year or two now. Which doesn't make you any older or younger, it just makes us BOTH crazy.
